Ludwig Schwarzel and Josef Frank founded SchuF on January 1st. 1911. In 1915, the Lift Plug Valve was invented by Josef, followed by the Bottom Outlet Valve in 1923. Dr Joseph Frank succeeded his father in 1952 and proceeded to develop SchuF as the leading specialty valve producer in Europe.
In 1980, the third generation of Franks, Dr. Martin Frank and Wolfgang Frank, took over SchuF and introduced a wide range to the American, Asian, and British markets Sales offices were opened in the United States and England, and representation was established worldwide. In order to meet these new production demands, a manufacturing facility was built in Cork, Ireland.
Today, SchuF is the leading manufacturer in the world for custom-made valves. Working with chemical, fiber, pharmaceutical and other process industries worldwide, SchuF uses innovation and technology to supply the most advanced valve solutions.
